Thanks everyone, I'll let you know once I get my grubby mits on it. The only mods planned at the moment are a new gear knob, new side repeater inserts and possibly a visit to Phil at MINI PIRATE for some artistic inspiration. Maybe mare in a year or so, we'll see.

And Mark, always welcome here mate!

An unfortunate question......

My missus recommended the Whalen solid one. She's got a custom version in her S which is nice so I'll probably stick with them.

Hello and welcome from East Surrey.
I always wanted an old mini traveller but needed something reliable for commuting and work so like you bought a new Mini Clubman.

(sorry everybody else for not posting for a longtime-hope I am forgiven!) :D

Cheers mate, reminds me of someone else's but I can't quite put my finger on it.......

Would quite like your xenons, climate control & sunroof though!

haha I'll be keeping an eye out when you're around then

how are you finding it after the Golf, missing the power at all? :)

Not missing the power and enjoying the more direct feel that you get with the MINI. It's more fun to drive a manual too, even though the DSG truly was the god of auto boxes.

I hate to say it, but I am missing the build quality and the refinement. The Golf wipes the floor with the clubby on that count. And the sound system in the MINI is an eye opener. Last time I had a stereo that bad was in a 1972 Triumph Toledo.

thats good that you're enjoying it then and not missing the power! :geek:

I must admit its not fantastic the standard boost, but I'll live with it for a while I think, the Hi-Fi was crap too

Happy to say the clubby is waaaay better in the snow than the GOlf. And it looks like one of the speakers on the hi-fi is knackered hence why it sounds so pants. Going in on Friday for them to have a look at a few niggles like that & then all should be well with the world.

Liking the car more the more I drive it. Give me a month and I doubt I'll miss the Golf at all. I'll always miss the xenons, but that's not a MINI thing, it's a spec thing. I can live with it all for 4 years until I'm qualified (hopefully) and can go get a higher spec one! :)
