Hello
Is there any photo's here anywhere that shows how you remove the third high level brake light on the clubbie?
I get my new Cooper S white one tomorrow to swap with my red one and just wondered if anyone knows how to swap them over :?:
Thanks

Easy had mine off this weekend 8-) No photos though :(

Simply remove the eight TORX fasteners that you can see with rear doors open on the lower surface of the brake light assy. 4 are 'outside' the doors, 4 would be hidden if the doors are shut.
Once all out pull down on the assembly, don't pull too far as you need to disconnect rear wash water pipe and the brake light wire. Refitting is reverse just watch out that you get the rubber seal end pieces in the right place when you offer the brake assembly up to the side drip channels ;)

Again sorry no photos

Looks like it may do. its just clipped in, but you need the assembly off to remove lense. I tried to unclip the lense with the whole assembly off gave up for fear of snapping something

Just an idea but the red light on my car has loads of water in?
Do they replace this light under warranty?
If so could I just ask the to fit the one I brought and maybe get some money back?
Do you think it's worth asking?

Cool I will tell them in the morning.
Don't think it should matter if it's a red or White one?
Just found a small amount of water in boot too?

Ive had mine replaced once due to green mold in lense and then a new seal at a later date due to water in the boot. When i gave the clubbie a good clean the other day ive noticed water in the lense again and also rust stains running down the rear pillars  . There is obviously a design fault with drainage, anyway need to arrange another visit to the dealers

I went to the dealer who i have to say were very helpful indeed.
The manager booked my car in straight away for Monday to have the light replaced and a investigation as to where the water may have come from.

I explained i was looking to buy the white cooper S light and asked if they could fit this one instead but he said under warrenty they could only fit what was meant to be on the car

He said if i wanted to change it then it was up to me to do after the work was done.
Worth a try :?:

if you've already got the white one won't they fit that for you and just give you the red one :?: you could then sell the red one ;)

Ok i have had a chat with the service guy at cooper mini and they have agreed that if i buy the white brake light they will fit it for free and give me the new red one.
If anyone needs a new red one i will have one next week.
